Nardwuar is a celebrity interviewer, who mainly focusses on musicians. Now that on itself isn’t anything special, but his methods are.
I don’t know if it’s an act, or if he really is like that, but he has this geeky approach and method. He also brings research and knowledge to the table second to none.
He also often bring rare items and gadgets to the interview which have a certain connection to the interviewed person, and with that is able to extract intimite and unique anekdotes from his interviewees.
He has such extensive inside knowledge that he often confuses or even scares his interviewees.
His ways of interviewing aren’t appreciated by everyone, and has caused him to be verbally abused, and even threatened several times (by Skid Row in example, or Quiet Riot who actually chased him down the street).
But luckily there are also interviews where the subjects really appreciate Nardwuar and have called him the best interviewer ever.
And for one, it seems he has a specialty for cracking the big ego’s in hiphop-land.
